About KCC

Greetings

Rumiko Sato, President of the Kashiwa International Relations Association

佐藤ルミ子

I am new President of Kashiwa International Relations Association (KIRA) starting in June. I have been a Japanese language volunteer for more than 25 years since I started working for the Shonan International Friendship Association (SIFA). After the SIFA merged with Kashiwa International Relations Association (KIRA), I served as Vice President, Chair of the Planning Office, and Treasurer.

The social landscape around us has been changing significantly, and social unrest is increasing. In times like this, KIRA’s activities to connect individuals are becoming more and more important. KIRA plays an important role in building relationships that allow Japanese and foreigners to live pleasantly in Kashiwa city.

KIRA’s activities are made possible by many dedicated volunteer staff, and it is truly wonderful that they are working hard every day for international exchanges. KIRA’s leadership team will do our best to make it easier for these volunteers to participate. I would appreciate your cooperation and support.

Outline

Kashiwa Cross-cultural Center (KCC) was established in May 2016. Kashiwa City has appointed Kashiwa International Relations Association (KIRA), a specified non-profit organization, as the designated manager. KIRA manages and operates KCC.

The purpose of KCC is to promote "harmonious coexistence" among Kashiwa citizens by focusing on "exchange" and "support”. KCC is generally involved in activities related to international exchange in Kashiwa City.

KCC's main feature is that all of our activities are carried out by volunteers, including gathering information for projects, planning, and implementation.
